We currently have 3 groups running in the Midlands, at Subside in Birmingham, The Gifford Arms in Wolverhampton, and Just Dropped In in Coventry. Please note that we will be re-starting the Birmingham group later this year after a brief hiatus.

What is a peer support group?
Our peer support groups are places where metal fans can get together to chat about music and mental health. They are not structured conversations but may focus on a topic or activity (like a playlist or doing crafts). Our groups are run by trained facilitators in peer support – they are not ‘treatment’ or mental health services, rather a chance to share experiences and discuss coping strategies. We have resources and signposting available at our groups.
Practicalities
The groups are for over 18s only and you can just turn up, no need to book. If you have any accessibility requirements or any questions, please contact Adam, our midlands events lead on Instagram or at
adamsharples87@hotmail.com. Refreshments will be available to purchase at the group if you wish to, but there is no obligation to do so. Please note that we do not allow alcohol in the group, though you are welcome to stay after the group for a drink if you wish.
Please consult our Diary page for the exact dates of the Wolverhampton group
Subside has step access only to the front entrance. Alternatively, there is ramp access to the venue, using the rear gate/smoking area to access the ramp. If you do require to use the ramp access please do contact us in advance so we can make sure that a member of venue staff can assist you entering the venue. The bar staff at the venue are aware of the session and can point us out to you if you are not sure who we are!
