We don’t mean to brag…. But we are kind of proud of what heavy metal therapy has become (it surprised us a bit as well!). HMT is peer led, so it’s about the people that use and interact with the pages. We wanted a place where we could acknowledge the feedback that people have given us and to say thank you. We take feedback very seriously and if there’s something you don’t like, we’d rather know – that’s how we get better! Here are some of the things people have said about our project and notable mentions we’ve had:
Some of the best support we have had is from people who work in psychology and mental health, and/or are part of the recovery movement
Dr Rufus May, Consultant Clincal Psychologist and Expert by Experience
Dr Dan Robotham, Deputy Research Director at McPin Foundation (mental health charity)
Matt Ball, Mental Health Nurse, Therapist and Expert by Experience, Australian Nurse of the Year
We are pleased to have had our work mentioned by Metal Insider and Metal Sucks, and to have offered a little opinion in the i newspaper.
Academically we have have published work for the journal of metal music studies and ISPS. See the metal university for more of this kind of thing…. Our work has been supported by a number of metal music academics.
You can also see our recommendations on Facebook by some of you lovely lot
