Childhood trauma has a significant impact on who we become. Heavy Metal Therapy was lucky enough to have DJ, Journalist Verity Oliver talk about her experiences surviving childhood sexual abuse. Verity succeeded in turning her experiences into something that became a force for change and helped others with her own volunteer work.
We realise that this subject can be incredibly difficult to talk about. To that end we encourage you to look after yourselves. Verity is eloquent, insightful and powerful in describing her experiences. She has a wonderful sense of humour. More than anything she feels the subject needs to be discussed more openly. Metal culture does not shy away from difficult discussions and neither do we.
