Heavy Metal Therapy had the pleasure of being approached by Eric Crane author of Faster than the Speed of Sound: Vignettes from the Bay Area Thrash Metal Scene.
As a young man living in San Francisco Eric had a front row experience of the early days of Thrash Metal. He had the pleasure of witnessing the early shows of Metallica, Slayer, Megadeath and local Bay legends Exodus.
In the interview we talk about early thrash show experiences and how the scene is more complicated than it seems. We discuss the initial energy at the time and how to drag your friends and neighbours kicking and screaming into the world of fast, brutal sounds.
