Some of you may remember doing a survey for us in the metal health moshpit a few months ago (our Facebook group which is here if you want to join us). This was part of a research dissertation at Wakefield College University Centre, School of Popular Music about heavy metal and mental health. We wanted to feedback the results to you all, there were some very cool responses and we’ve selected some of the key bits for here. However, contact us if you want more information on the project and results including a fuller report.
We think that this is the first example of someone from our community conducting research with the community members (including closing the loop now with feedback). This is similar to something called participatory action research, which is exciting stuff if you are a nerd, and hopefully won’t be the last project we do of this kind. Thank you to everyone who filled in the survey, you have helped us to grow the Metal University.
